Bypass Winter for Spring with Lavin

It’s always enthralling to see a collection come to fruition that simply electrifies. Lavin’s new pre-spring collection surges with electricity. This collection takes work wear and breaks it down into something that feels youthful and professional. Unlike some other collections that boast a similar style, Lavin does not put too much into the colors or even into the patterns. Despite standing out, the collection is decidedly docile to the eye.

The key to that is the fact that the collection features a good amount of blocking. The color in the shirt is usually broken in half by the color and a strip of black down the middle. It creates a visual that doesn’t necessarily have to be rooted in a pattern but is still stimulating to the eye. It’s a fix that is very simple, but also very effective. Simple pinstripes also give these looks that extra kick that they need to be something more exciting.

Rather than regurgitate a bunch of the same old black suits or daring plaids, Lavin opts to break the mold by oversizing the cloth while downplaying the intricacies of the pattern. You know what else is exciting? There’s not a single black shoe in sight. These looks are livened up by the mere fact that we’ve shied away from typical black loafers all together.

Instead, we’re given khakis and rawhide sneakers, which further promotes the side of youth with this collection. Lavin was clearly catering to the man that works at the start up company with these suits, but it wouldn’t be unheard of to see something of this nature begin to crop up in your usual black and blue buildings. The times are a changing with workplace attire and this Lavin collection seems to be the perfect little bridge between worlds. Hello hipsters, welcome to the corporate ladder.
